GLAMCHOPS: Rookie car bomber

     On May 1, a 1993 Nissan Pathfinder failed to explode as planned in New York City’s Times Square in an attempted terrorist car bombing. Officials found forensic evidence from the suspect inside the car, as well as a complicated mess of gasoline, propane, firecrackers, alarm clocks, a metal gun locker, and eight giant, stinking bags of non-explosive fertilizer.

     One day, on a summer’s night in New York City back in 1981, a small network called “Music Television” began broadcasting with the words, “Ladies and Gentlemen, Rock and Roll.”

   

How to make your teachers think you actually read the book

     Students that find themselves too lazy or apathetic to read the books assigned in English often rely on SparkNotes. Yet even the coverage provided by the study-guide website does not prepare a student to make a concise, intelligent comment in class. The following are several of the commonly assigned books and the corresponding comments one could make in class.

   

A battle on the road with spandex warriors

     Before I began driving, I hated cars. I thought drivers were rude and didn’t give any consideration to my safety as a pedestrian. Then I started driving, and I hated pedestrians. I thought they were stupid and clueless and were constantly putting themselves in danger. But no matter whether I am traveling by foot or by car, one thing has remained constant: I hate bikers.

Spring Fever: A number of Tam students are on school trips to foreign countries including France, England, and Mexico. Bon Voyage!

Driving Safe: Recently, a number of Tam students have been pulled over for speeding above the 25 mile per hour speed limit on Almonte Boulevard.

Winning Voices: On a trip to New York, the Tam Concert Choir recieved an individual rating of Gold/Superior, the highest rating a group can get. In addition, the choir also finished Second place overall in the entire Concert Choir category.
